This months animal tale..... 

"Special K" and "Bobina" shown lounging on the bed of our President, Cindy Larson. In the fall of 2006 when these 2 girls moved in under Cindy's deck with their two other six-week old siblings, their feral mom and dad - and - their 2 feral teen-age brothers, she quickly found out first-hand that in Barrington there were no resources available to help!

With the help of some friends and a good deal of willpower and luck she managed to trap all 8 cats who were then spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Mom and Dad were too wild to come inside so were returned to the yard. Mom still lives on  Cindy's deck where she is quite content and becoming more friendly all the time.  Dad passed away last year, we suspect he was hit by a car. The two teen-age boys who are semi-tame have found a great home in Rehoboth where they are well cared for and have room to roam and play! Two of the young kittens found great new homes, one on the East Side of Providence and the other in nearby Seekonk. They are cherished indoor family members. And of course, the most spolied of all....the two girls shown above!

WHAT'S NEW

Barrington PAW just received news that we have been awarded a charitable grant through the Rhode Island Foundation. This grant, which will enable us to continue our work in implementing programs to eliminate the uneccesary euthaniasia of companion animals in Barrington is made possible by the Helen Walker Raleigh Fund for Animals. We are very grateful for their support and their belief in the importance of our work.
